Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales resumed their royal duties on Tuesday, taking part in a special event marking what would have been the 100th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.
The couple joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla—who had earlier reviewed proposed designs for the late Queen’s memorial at the British Museum—for a reception held in the Marble Hall at Buckingham Palace.
Among those in attendance were Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, along with members of the Gloucester family, Princess Alexandra, and Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
Their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—did not attend the occasion.
Catherine, Princess of Wales turned heads in an elegant A-line pale pink dress by Emilia Wickstead, wearing her brunette hair in soft waves and seemingly completing the look with a pearl necklace once owned by Queen Elizabeth II.
Both she and Prince William appeared reflective as they honored William’s grandmother, with whom they shared a particularly close relationship.
The appearance marked their return to official engagements following a three-week Easter break, aside from attending church services on Easter Sunday.
