King Charles’ Alleged 5-Word Comment to Queen Camilla at Trooping the Colour Sparks Attention

During the carriage procession at Trooping the Colour, cameras briefly captured what appeared to be an animated exchange between King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort as they travelled through central London.

The event brought together senior members of the royal family, including Prince William, Catherine, Princess of Wales and their children, Prince Edward, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Anne, Princess Royal with Tim Laurence, and Richard Gloucester and Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester.

According to lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling, who analysed footage for the Daily Express, the King and Queen appeared to be discussing something during the procession. However, it is important to note that lip-reading interpretations are estimates rather than confirmed transcripts, and any reported remarks should be treated with caution unless verified by the people involved.

According to lip-reading specialist Nicola Hickling, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, King Charles III appeared to be dealing with a minor wardrobe discomfort during the carriage procession at Trooping the Colour.

Hickling claimed the King first said: “I’m in a right mess.”

She then interpreted another exchange as Charles asking Camilla, Queen Consort: “Could you get up? It’s trapped, I need to pull it out so I am comfortable.” Camilla reportedly stood up, apparently allowing the King to adjust his coat.

In another moment, Hickling suggested Charles encouraged his wife to acknowledge the crowds, saying: “Come on, let’s wave.”

The lip reader also claimed the couple appeared to discuss an upcoming meeting scheduled for Monday, although the details of that conversation were unclear from the available footage.

As with all lip-reading analyses, these interpretations are not officially confirmed and should be regarded as informed estimates rather than verbatim transcripts of the conversation.

It is the fourth Trooping cеremony in His Majesty’s reign

According to lip-reading specialist Nicola Hickling, King Charles III appeared to tell Camilla, Queen Consort during the carriage procession: “I’m in a right mess, (mumbles) it’s a mess.”

Camilla was interpreted as responding reassuringly: “Oh, don’t worry.”

Hickling also suggested that Charles later remarked: “We shall wait and see them on Monday; it must be done.” The context of the alleged comment was unclear, and, as with all lip-reading interpretations, it remains unverified.

Meanwhile, Catherine, Princess of Wales and her children joined spectators at Horse Guards Parade to watch the military spectacle.

Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, viewed the ceremony from a first-floor window of the former office of the Arthur Wellesley overlooking the parade ground.

Thousands of people lined The Mall to watch the royal carriage procession from Buckingham Palace. The King and Queen travelled at the centre of the Sovereign’s Escort provided by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

Leading the procession was the Band of the Household Cavalry, accompanied by two shire horses carrying the regiment’s famous solid silver kettle drums, creating one of the most iconic sights of the annual celebration.
