Debate Ignites Over Whether King Charles Should Meet Prince Harry During His US Visit

King Charles is reportedly considering a trip to the United States next year to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Should his health permit, the 77-year-old monarch is expected to be accompanied by Queen Camilla.

The visit would be his first to the US since 2018, when he attended the funeral of President George H. W. Bush on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. This upcoming visit — anticipated for April — would likely involve President Donald Trump hosting the royal couple.

The visit is expected to take place in the lead-up to America’s July 4th Independence Day celebrations, with the US President reportedly planning major events during the King and Queen’s stay.

Although King Charles will have a full schedule, the trip is certain to prompt speculation about whether he might take the opportunity to see Prince Harry.

Since relocating to the United States in 2020, Harry has been living in California with Meghan Markle and their children — six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.

If King Charles were to arrange a meeting with his youngest son during the trip, it could also give him the chance to spend time with his two youngest grandchildren.

It is unclear when the King last spent time with Archie and Lilibet, though many believe it may have been during the family’s visit to the UK for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.

The King is said to be “very sad” about the limited relationship he has with his youngest grandchildren. Speaking to Grazia earlier this year, a source said: _“The King does not like conflict and he would love for this all to be resolved. But Harry has to earn the trust back.

The ball is in his court in that respect. The King loves his son and he is very sad he has not spent any time with Archie and Lilibet, but Harry hasn’t made reconciliation easy.”_
