Meghan Markle has faced criticism online, with some social media users accusing her of “copying Princess Catherine” during the first day of her and Prince Harry’s visit to Jordan.

The Duke, 41, and Duchess of Sussex, 44, were photographed arriving in Amman for a two-day trip to the Middle Eastern country. Their visit follows an invitation from Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization.

Soon after landing, the couple travelled to a refugee camp in northern Jordan. While visiting the QuestScope Youth Center, Meghan was seen taking part in a light-hearted football activity — a moment that sparked mixed reactions online.

Sharing images of the scene, one social media user wrote: Cosplaying Catherine again. Meghan is obsessed with Catherine.

Another commented: Ok this is actually kind of funny… never kicked a ball in her life [laughing-face emoji].

Prince Harry was also seen joining in with the football activity during the visit, prompting further reactions online.

Princess Catherine has long been associated with a passion for sport and is frequently photographed actively participating during athletic engagements.

As patron of the Rugby Football Union, she joined players on the field during a 2023 visit to Maidenhead Rugby Club, taking part in training drills alongside both local and professional athletes.

She was also pictured kicking a football during a 2021 visit to City of Derry Rugby Club in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, further highlighting her hands-on approach to sporting appearances.
