While chatting with one of the guests, the Princess admitted that the lively pup had “chewed quite a lot the other day.” She then joked: “You have to keep them busy. The first thing we do in the morning is check, ‘Has anyone taken Otto out?’”

The mother-of-three looked radiant at the event, which she hosted alongside Prince William on behalf of King Charles III.

New puppy

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales had added a new puppy to their family.

The pup, named Otto, came from a litter born to the Waleses’ dog Orla, who welcomed four puppies last May. The litter had previously appeared in a social media video shared by William the following June.

The news became official when Kensington Palace released a photo of the dog to celebrate his first birthday, alongside the caption: “Welcome to the family, Otto! 1 today.”

Catherine, Princess of Wales had already hinted earlier this year that the family was caring for a young puppy, revealing back in February: “We’ve got a little puppy, he’s only eight months.”

The Wales family’s other dog, Orla, has also been present during several deeply personal moments for the royals—including Kate’s emotional video update about her cancer journey.

In the touching family clip, Orla could be seen sitting nearby as the Princess shared that her chemotherapy treatment had come to an end and spoke about how spending time in nature played an important role in her recovery.
