On Tuesday, the social media team for the Prince and Princess of Wales offered a completely new behind-the-scenes look at one such investiture — and royal fans were captivated.
The emotional video was shared with their 17.2 million followers and, rather than spotlighting the recipients of the honours, focused on the powerful reactions of their loved ones as they watched the moment unfold. It marked a rare opportunity to see the ceremony from the royals’ point of view, capturing the pride and joy on faces as family members and friends witnessed those closest to them being recognised.
Fans were quick to praise the new angle on the traditional ceremony, sharing their excitement in the comments. One supporter wrote, “Ohhh I love this. What pride they show. Tears in my eyes,” while another said, “Lovely! You can really feel the effort and emotion behind this moment, so special to see.”

Tuesday’s honours
Among those honoured today was Sir Roy Clarke, the television writer who was made a Knight Bachelor in recognition of his contributions to entertainment. Meanwhile, Maria Turrion Borallo, the nanny to Prince William and Princess Kate, also received the Royal Victorian Medal in silver.
The silver Royal Victorian Medal is personally awarded by the King and recognises loyal service to the monarch or the royal household. This honour differs from those typically given to sports figures or actors, who are often awarded MBEs or knighthoods. Unlike many other accolades, the Royal Victorian Medal is granted solely at the monarch’s discretion, rather than on the recommendation of government ministers or through independent committees.
The Spanish nanny, Maria Turrion Borallo, who trained at the prestigious Norland College in Bath, has been working with the Wales family since 2014. She has been spotted at numerous high-profile engagements, often assisting with the royal children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Although Maria does not live at Forest Lodge with the family, she remains deeply involved in their day-to-day life. Norland nannies are known for taking on a wide range of responsibilities, from preparing breakfast and handling school runs to supporting children with their homework.
