Prince William Shows His Fun Dad Side as He Shares an Exciting Personal Announcement in New Video

The Prince of Wales embodied the ultimate off-duty dad on Tuesday as he appeared in a newly released video alongside football star Jill Scott.

The father of three opted for a relaxed, laid-back look for the clip, which was filmed to mark 100 years of Fields in Trust — the charity dedicated to protecting the future of parks, playgrounds, playing fields, and green spaces.

In the video, charity patron William sported smart-casual navy trousers, paired with brown leather trainers and a soft navy jacket.

HELLO!’s Fashion and Beauty Editor, Laura Sutcliffe, broke down his off-the-cuff style, saying: “The Prince of Wales has combined a range of complementary tones in this outfit — racing green, oatmeal, white, and camel. His oversized shirt pulls the whole look together and gives off a very ‘dad on the go’ vibe — an unfussy outfit that’s comfortable when looking after children.”

The video was shared alongside the message: “Once a green space goes, it’s gone forever.” It continued: “A walk in the park with our Patron and President to discuss why protecting the UK’s green spaces matters — not only for today’s communities, but for the children of the future too.”

The caption also highlighted the charity’s mission, stating: “Fields in Trust is the only charity that legally protects the UK’s parks, playgrounds, playing fields, and green spaces. Forever. Because access to green space is a right, not a privilege.”

The film followed William and football star Jill Scott as they walked through Windlesham Field of Remembrance Park — one of nearly 3,000 green spaces now permanently protected by Fields in Trust.

Throughout the film, the pair discuss the crucial role green spaces play in communities and meet local park users before joining in to coach a football session with pupils from a nearby school.

Fields in Trust is the UK’s only charity focused on safeguarding parks, playgrounds, playing fields, and green spaces — a mission that has never been more essential.

A key theme of the film is the stark reality that most of these spaces currently lack legal protection, and once they are lost, they are gone forever.

William launchеd the Earthshot Prize in 2020

In 2020, William launched the Earthshot Prize — a global initiative created to identify, fund, and scale solutions to the world’s most urgent environmental challenges. These include protecting and restoring nature, cleaning the air, reviving the oceans, building a waste-free world, and tackling climate change.

Each year, five winners — one for each Earthshot — are awarded £1 million to help expand their innovative ideas. The prize aims to shift the narrative around environmental issues from pessimism to optimism, driven by action and ingenuity.

William has also shown a strong interest in regenerative farming, visiting farms and backing projects that promote sustainable land management. Much of this work is linked to the Duchy of Cornwall estate, which has set a goal to reach net-zero emissions by the end of 2032.
