Prince George had the sweetest reaction after a well-wisher told him his late grandmother, Princess Diana, would be “proud” of him during the Christmas Day walkabout.
The traditional Sandringham walkabout allows members of the public to meet the royals on Christmas Day, offering gifts, taking selfies, and sharing brief moments with the family.
On Thursday, the 12-year-old joined his parents and younger siblings as they attended church before greeting well-wishers. Many fans were struck by his appearance, commenting in surprise at just how tall he has become.

Prince George told Princess Diana wоuld be ‘proud’ of him
Princess Charlotte shared a touching moment on Christmas Day when she gave a warm hug to a well-wisher in the crowd.
In another heart-warming exchange, Prince George received some especially kind words during the walkabout. After wishing George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis a happy Christmas, the well-wisher addressed George directly.
Taking his hand, the person said: “George, I’ve got something to say to you.” They then added: “Granny Diana would be ever so proud of you.”
George responded sweetly with a smile, saying: “Thank you,” as he let out a small chuckle.
Prince William was also heard expressing his appreciation, adding: “That’s very kind of you.”

‘Diana would have been proud’
Royal fans were quick to gush over the touching exchange. One person wrote on X: “This is absolutely beautiful to see and hear. The Wales children are being raised so well!!”
Another commented: “I’m crying — this is so lovely.”
A third added: “Beautiful children, and yes, Diana would have been proud.”
Princess Kate’s commеnt about George’s height
Elsewhere during the walkabout, the Princess of Wales chatted with another well-wisher about George’s height.
The person remarked: “[George is] going to be six foot four.”
Kate laughed and replied: “I know — he’s catching up with everyone, isn’t he?”
George receives Aston Villa gift
Meanwhile, Prince George looked delighted as he was handed an Aston Villa–themed gift by another well-wisher in the crowd.
George and his father, Prince William, are well known for being passionate Aston Villa supporters. As the gift was passed to him, George laughed and said: “Oh, thank you. Thank you very much.”
Later on Christmas Day, King Charles’s annual speech was broadcast, featuring George in a series of montage clips following his recent visit to the homelessness charity The Passage.
William took his son to The Passage on December 16 — a visit that echoed a moment from his own childhood, when he accompanied his late mother, Princess Diana, to the charity in 1993 at the age of 11.
