Kensington Palace has offered a first look at the Princess of Wales’s Christmas carol concert, taking place at Westminster Abbey tonight. In photos shared on their social media channels, a stunning Christmas tree decorated with poinsettias, large red baubles and faux candles was on display.
The Palace wrote: “Wonderful to see Westminster Abbey dressed and ready ahead of this evening’s Carol Service, complete with beautiful wreaths from The RHS. To all those attending this evening, we look forward to welcoming you!”
Additional images showcased the Abbey’s exquisite stained-glass windows and its historic pulpit.
Catherine’s carol service is now in its fifth year and has become one of the standout events of the year for the future Queen.
She devotes months to preparing it with her team, with the goal of uniting people for a warm and uplifting festive celebration to usher in the Christmas season.
The Together At Christmas service — a blend of traditional carols, music and readings — honours people from across the UK who have devoted their time to supporting others, led initiatives that unite their communities, or simply offered a helping hand to those around them.
The event, which will be broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve, promises to be a spectacular, candle-lit celebration featuring special performances from Katie Melua, Fisherman’s Friends and Griff.
Readings were delivered by Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor, comedian Babatunde Aléshé and rising actor Joe Locke, with pianist Paul Gladstone Reid providing musical accompaniment.
