Kate’s Candid Message to William and Harry About Their Brotherhood Takes on New Meaning

Prince William and Prince Harry’s fractured relationship is once again under scrutiny following the Duke of Sussex’s return to Britain. Despite Harry being back on UK soil, there has yet to be any sign of a reunion between the brothers after years of tension and estrangement. Their relationship, however, was once remarkably close, with William and Harry growing up just 27 months apart.

That bond was evident in 2017 when Princess Catherine joined William and Harry for a candid discussion about mental health as part of their joint Heads Together campaign. During the conversation, the brothers reflected on their relationship and shared experiences growing up together, while Catherine commented on how “lucky” they had been to be raised within such a close family environment.

During the 2017 conversation, Catherine reflected on the difficult experiences William and Harry had faced growing up and praised the strength they had shown in dealing with them. She also suggested that their childhood and the close relationship they developed with one another had played an important role.

Catherine said: “Considering everything that you boys sadly went through and the trauma that you experienced…. I do think it’s incredible how strong and how you’ve been able to cope really and I put that down to your really early years childhood experience but also the relationship that you’ve got. You’re amazingly close.”

William quickly responded with a light-hearted joke, adding: “Most of the time!”

Catherine then highlighted how valuable that bond was, saying: “Some families sadly aren’t as lucky as you guys have been.”

William agreed that their shared experiences had strengthened their connection, explaining: “We have been brought closer because of the circumstances as well that’s the thing you know you are uniquely bonded because of what we’ve been through.”

Prince Harry’s heаrtfelt words

Prince Harry also reflected on the strength of his relationship with William in 2005, explaining how the loss of their mother, Princess Diana, had brought the brothers even closer together.

Speaking about William, Harry said: “It’s amazing how close we’ve become. Ever since our mother died, obviously we were close. But he is the one person on this Earth who I can actually, really, we can talk about anything. We understand each other, we give each other support, and everything’s fine.”

Years later, Harry offered a far more complicated picture of his relationship with William in his memoir Spare. In the book, he portrayed their bond as a mixture of deep affection and intense rivalry, referring to William as both his “beloved brother” and his “arch-nemesis.”

Harry suggested that some of the tension between them was rooted in the different roles assigned to the brothers from birth, with William destined to become the heir to the throne while Harry grew up as “the spare.”

William forcеd to face the music

For years, William and Harry have been separated not only by their strained relationship but also by the fact that they have lived in different countries. Harry’s unexpected move back to Britain, however, could now create an opportunity for the brothers to finally meet again.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl believes the Duke of Sussex’s return has opened the door to the possibility of a long-awaited reunion between the two princes.

William has stayеd silent about his brother’s rеturn

Katie Nicholl, author of The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown, believes Harry’s return to Britain could make it increasingly difficult for William to avoid addressing their fractured relationship.

Speaking to HELLO!, she explained: “In many ways, Harry’s really got William over a barrel because it will be very difficult with them being geographically so much closer and Harry being welcomed back into the royal fold by his father, at least, for William to be adamant that there will be no reconciliation.”
