While Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is preparing to relocate to a home on the Sandringham Estate — reportedly financed privately by the King — his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is said to be making her own plans, according to sources.
Although her next destination remains unconfirmed, several royal commentators suggest that Sarah may be planning to leave the UK entirely as she begins this new phase of her life.
Phil Dampier, writing for Woman’s Day, suggested that Sarah Ferguson might choose to relocate to Australia to be closer to her sister, Jane Ferguson Luedecke, as a way of distancing herself from the lingering controversy linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein.
“Sarah’s sister Jane recently came over to comfort her, and she has suggested she could always move to be near her in Australia. Fergie has always loved Oz and Aussies, and some still like her,” Dampier wrote.
Jane Ferguson Luedecke recently travelled from Australia to the UK to support her younger sister during what has been a particularly difficult time.
At 66, Sarah is reportedly finding it hard to cope with the fallout from the Royal Family following renewed scrutiny over her past connection with Epstein. The turmoil was reignited after correspondence from 2011 surfaced, in which Sarah referred to Epstein as a “supreme friend.”
This message contradicted her previous statements claiming she had cut ties with him. However, her representatives later explained that the note had been written during a time when she feared potential threats against her family.

There is, however, one significant downside to Sarah Ferguson’s potential move abroad — she would be thousands of miles away from her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and her beloved grandchildren.
Royal expert Phil Dampier noted: “Like many families with loved ones on the other side of the world, she would miss her daughters and grandkids. But they could always visit, and at least she would be free to live again.”
Sarah has often spoken about the joy of motherhood and grandmotherhood, calling the arrival of her grandchildren “precious, joyful, [and] exciting.”
At present, her representatives have not commented on whether she plans to move overseas or remain in the UK.
